Twisted, founded in Yorkshire England in 2000 when it introduced its first Land Rover specific performance parts. The first entirely Twisted TD5 90 demo vehicle hit the road in 2003 and the creation of the first Twisted 110 occurred in 2004.
Customer customization began in 2005, with subsequent growth through custom client vehicles and strong parts sales. In 2009, Twisted produced a record number of vehicles, solidifying its association with the iconic Defender.
R&D focus and a logo rebrand followed in 2010 with the introduction of four new vehicle specs. The first Twisted LS-powered V8 debuted in 2012, with further R&D investment continuing in 2013, focusing on audio, suspension, and braking development.
By 2016, Twisted owned the largest stockpile of “Last of Line” undriven Defender.
The North Yorkshire Showroom opened in 2020, London & Salcombe Marine Showroom in 2021, and in 2022, the R&D team developed the TV8 and TVS engines.
In 2023, a global brand deal and a Japan license agreement were signed, with the launch of the Twisted Suzuki TJ. In 2024, the brand aims to officially launch in Japan and the USA while focusing on resto-mod production for manufacturing status.
