Vehicle History
The 130 was designed by Land Rover for commercial and military use. Considered the workhorse of the three models with its extended load bed, the 130 was in essence an extended 110 with a higher load-carrying capacity and greater versatility. Highly desired and built in limited numbers the 130 is the ultimate adventure truck.

This UK-sourced 130 is more powerful than the model it superseded, the TD5 was a giant leap forward in technology with its control systems, engine management, ABS brakes, and traction control. There were enhancements in comfort for the first time too, with a new dash center panel and what were considered to be luxury items of the time such as electric front windows and heated front seats. Respected by Twisted for its tuning possibilities, the TD5 was the best version of the Defender you could buy.

The Process
To celebrate its heritage and history, this 130 high-capacity pickup will undergo an extensive transformation with a full Twisted Revival build.

Our Master Technicians will dismantle the vehicle into its component parts and meticulously inspect every item. The chassis will be restored and protected while the body and load bed cover undergo a complete panel-off restoration before being repainted in its original Cairns Blue. Painstakingly reassembled with particular detail given to panel alignment. It will be sealed against water ingress, soundproofed, and sound-deadened before being lined with our premium black carpet.

The engine will be disassembled, thoroughly inspected, and completely rebuilt and the driveline upgraded with new driveshafts, half shafts, and differentials. Our Twisted developed intercooler, stainless steel exhaust, hybrid turbocharger, and engine remap are added taking the car from its original; 122hp to 210hp. Stopping power has not been forgotten, and our 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers will be installed giving a massive upgrade over the standard Land Rover offerings. The original 5-cylinder TD5 engine provides the most wonderful and unmistakable soundtrack.

To retain as much originality as possible, our trim shop will use the original seats fitted with new seat foams throughout and trim them with Niagra Grey leather, Cairns Blue stitching, and our signature square quilt to the seat centers. The original headlining and sun visors will be retrimmed with Alston Alcantara and the final modern touch inside is a full audio upgrade including an appropriate single din head unit which includes satellite navigation and Bluetooth connectivity.

Finished in Cairns Blue paint with matching roof and highlighted with a set of satin grey Twisted 18” Classic alloy wheels, externally this 130 will have an aggressive stance about it with an extensive series of upgrades including LED headlights and tail lights, Twisted designed front bumper incorporating Lazer LED daytime running lights, driving lamps and winch. our Twisted stage one front end, inspired by the 1970 Land Rover V8 which includes 8mm stainless steel mesh front, side, wing top, and horn grills finished in satin black paint as well as Series III headlamp surrounds painted in matching body color and satin grey chequer plate fitted to the side sills and wing tops.
