Vehicle History
The 130 was designed by Land Rover for commercial and military use. Considered the workhorse of the three models, the 130 was in essence an extended 110 but with a higher load-carrying capacity and greater versatility. Highly desired and built in limited numbers the 130 is the ultimate adventure truck.

This Netherlands sourced 130 is more powerful than the model it superseded, the TD5 was a giant leap forward in technology with its control systems, engine management, ABS brakes, and traction control. There were enhancements in comfort for the first time too, with a new dash center panel and what were considered to be luxury items of the time such as electric front windows and heated front seats. Respected by Twisted for its tuning possibilities, the TD5 was the best version of the Defender you could buy.

The Process
To celebrate its heritage and history, this left-hand-drive 130 has undergone an extensive transformation with a full Twisted Revival build.

Our Master Technicians have dismantled the vehicle into its component parts and meticulously inspected every item. The chassis has been restored and protected whilst the body has undergoes a complete panel-off restoration before being repainted panel-by-panel in its original Caledonian Blue. Painstakingly reassembled with particular detail given to panel alignment. It has be sealed against water ingress, soundproofed, and sound-deadened before being lined with our premium black carpet.

The engine has been disassembled, thoroughly inspected, and completely rebuilt and the driveline upgraded with new driveshafts, half shafts, and differentials. Our Twisted developed intercooler, stainless steel exhaust, hybrid turbocharger, and engine remap were added taking the car from its original; 122hp to 210hp. Stopping power has not been forgotten, and our 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers are installed giving a massive upgrade over the standard Land Rover offerings. The original 5-cylinder TD5 engine provides the most wonderful and unmistakable soundtrack.

To retain as much originality as possible, our trim shop have utilised the original seats fitted with new seat foams throughout and trimmed with Pewter leather, and a Caledonian blue stitch to the seat bolsters and our signature square quilt to the seat centers. The original headlining and sun visors have been retrimmed with Alston Alcantara and the final modern touch inside is a full audio upgrade including an appropriate single din head unit which includes satellite navigation and Bluetooth connectivity.

Finished in Caledonian blue paint with contrasting Chawton white roof and our Rostyle alloy wheels, externally the vehicle includes a subtle but extensive series of upgrades including LED headlights and tail lights, our Twisted designed front bumper incorporating Lazer LED daytime running lights, complete with our Twisted Stage one front end.

True to its origins but ready for the new world. A glimpse of its past, waiting for new adventures to be made.
